Nothing ever really begins or ends. As human beings, we insist upon such categorizations in order to better understand the realities we inhabit. However, our understanding has little to do with these realities themselves. The music on this album in no way “progresses” art. It does not begin anything new, nor does it represent the culmination of any sort of major musical trend. It simply belongs to the tradition of music, and maybe contributes to its biggen-ing… beginning?
Similarly, all the words in every poem existed before that poem was written, and before those words existed there were others serving the same function. The musicians on this album will always exist as having been there in the studio, recording this music. Even if we hadn’t had any microphones we would still have always been there. That said, we did have microphones, so for your listening pleasure, we are still there… for you to be with now. Please enjoy the music, and thank you for joining us in the ongoing process of finishing Unfinished Business.

Rien ne commence ni ne finit jamais vraiment. En tant qu'êtres humains, nous réclamons ces catégorisations pour tenter de mieux comprendre la réalité dans laquelle nous vivons. Cependant, notre entendement a bien peu à voir avec cette réalité en tant que telle. La musique de cet album ne fait en aucune manière « avancer » l’art. Elle n’inaugure rien de nouveau, ne représente pas non plus l'aboutissement d'une quelconque tendance musicale majeure.
Elle appartient simplement à la tradition musicale, et contribue peut-être au commencement de son essor. De même, les mots de chacun de ces poèmes existaient tous bien avant que lesdits poèmes n’aient été écrits; et avant que ces mots n'existent, il s’en trouvait d'autres pour remplir la même fonction. Ainsi, les musiciens qui ont réalisé cet album existeront toujours puisqu’ils étaient bien là, en studio, pour enregistrer cette musique. Et même s’il n’y avait pas eu de microphones, la présence des musiciens en studio demeure un fait indéniable. Cela dit, les microphones étaient bel et bien de la partie, donc pour le simple plaisir de l'écoute, nous sommes toujours là... pour partager avec vous, dans l’immédiat. Merci d’être des nôtres; régalez-vous de cette musique et prenez part à l’achèvement de Unfinished Business.
